RETURN JOURNEY TO KUALA LUMPUR
Posted on: Thu 26 Aug 2010
More details of Chelsea’s 2011 summer tour of Asia have been revealed today with Malaysia added to the itinerary.

The team will play a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur and the country will act as the pre-season training hub, chief executive Ron Gourlay announced in the Malaysian capital.

This addition follows hard on the heels of news earlier this week that Carlo Ancelotti will be taking his squad to play in Bangkok, Thailand as a leg of the tour.

The Kuala Lumpur match means a return to a city visited by Chelsea in 2008 when a Malaysian XI was defeated 2-0.

‘At Chelsea we are in no doubt about the interest from Malaysia in the club,’ Gourlay says.’A huge crowd came to our game during our last tour of Asia and with next summer’s match taking place in the 85,000-capacity national stadium there is the chance for many to do so again.

‘As a centre for pre-season training as well, Carlo will require first-class facilities and we know Malaysia will provide that too.

‘And we are looking forward to getting closer to our fans out here. Announcing so early gives us the opportunity to plan activities in the region over the next 10-11 months ahead of our pre-season tour. Our successful community coaching scheme will be just one of many engagement activities.’

Next summer’s match will be in the Bukit Jalil National Stadium with the date and ticket-selling details to be announced.

The 2008 match took place in the Shah Alam Stadium in front of 60,000 fans. Current interest in Chelsea from Malaysia is such that only Indonesia and the United Kingdom provide more Facebook fans on the club’s official page.

Also present at today’s announcement were Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Abdullah, deputy president of the Football Association of Malaysia, and Julian Kam of ProEvents, the tour promoters.

‘We are delighted to bring Chelsea back to Malaysia with the support of Tengku Mahkota,’ said Kam.

‘Malaysia is best known for its superb hospitality, excellent facilities for football and the tremendous football fans we have in this country. The Chelsea supporters’ club here has a 600-strong following, and numbers are growing.

‘The club is widely popular throughout the world and especially so in Asia. With Ron’s vision to plan the pre-season ahead, this will give Chelsea fans in the region a tremendous opportunity to plan their next summer holiday in Malaysia.’

Chelsea also visited Kuala Lumpur in the summer of 2003 when we took part in the FA Premier League Asia Cup.

600 supporter only?? hmmmm..

The One With Express Bus

In today’s news The Star

‘Introduce safety belts for express buses’
By SYLVIA LOOI

IPOH: The Government should make safety belts mandatory for express buses to minimise injuries and deaths from accidents.

Perak Gerakan publicity bureau chairman Choong Shean Yang said the safety of passengers would be greatly improved if seatbelts were used.

They would minimise injuries as passengers will not be thrown about during an accident or when the bus overturns, he said in a statement here Wednesday.

He said that the latest bus crash in Tangkak, Johor, on Sunday was a reminder that such a ruling was needed.

I definitely agree with this.. I took a bus to visit a friend in Manchester while I was in London.. first thing first the driver did was to warn everyone on wearing the seatbelt..

apparently there’s also law where bus driver cannot drive more than certain hours.. 4.5 hours if I’m not mistaken.. The bus I took was from London to Rochdale via Manchester.. Normally travel time from London to Manchester would be around 4.25 hours.. only one driver on board and by right, another fresh driver would take over the bus upon reaching Manchester..

however some road accidents happened along the highway, the bus was quite late.. around 30 minutes before reaching Manchester, the driver called their headquarters telling his driving time was about to up and what to do next.. he was advised to stop by at the nearest bus station Altricham which only 15 minutes away from Manchester before the replacement driver came with a black cab and took over the bus.. he then went back with the cab..

I hope such safety regulation would be implemented here as a precaution step as well..

The One with F**k Lah

I was pretty glad when heard retail petrol price in Malaysia has dropped to RM2.00..

however.. soon after i touched now Malaysia.. *(where I left for just around 1 month plus.. ) I went to McD.. a regular set of burger cost freaking RM10.70!! holy crap.. I went to london, paris, rome and standard price for its set shd be around 5 - 6 (in their local currency).. so does it is in Texas according to some friend..

As usual, I would normally compare cost of living in countries based on its McD price without converting to our own currency.. use its based price as benchmark and see.. *I also learnt some backpackers would use price of beer for comparison*

anyway.. hours after tht, i went to Tesco for groceries and again found out normal stuff we’ve been using also whopping high.. diapers, cornflakes, milk, etc.. arghh.. this can make my blood go upstairs..

whats now? Oil price has been dropped, but why other stuff keeps on rising?? why FakLah? Why?? Or mister finance minister..

Can you please answer?

heh.. mind me.. i just came back from the land where u can fill cart full of groceries using only one 50 note and yet most of the time u can still get change.. furthermore temperature change make my blood boiling hot..

>Turun harga barang selaras harga minyak - PM

01/12/2008 9:04am

PUTRAJAYA 1 Dis.

- Utusan.

Heh.. yeah right.. Global crude oil is much cheaper than before yet national retail petrol price still more than its prior RM1.92 mark.. and it took you months before decided to put it at RM2.00 while seconds to hike it up to RM2.70..

what do you expect?

CONGRATULATIONS OBAMA

Posted by Dr. Mahathir Mohamad at November 6, 2008 5:41 PM | Permalink | Comments (164) | TrackBacks (0) | Previous Blog
1. I would like to add my congratulations to the millions that Barack Obama must have received for his great victory for the Presidency of the United States of America.

2. Only a few years ago I thought it was impossible for a black man to become President of white United States, the country where the blacks used to be the slaves of the whites.

3. But attitudes have certainly changed radically among the white people. Their support for Obama is overwhelming.

4. There are many reasons why Obama managed to break through white prejudice. But President Bush has contributed much towards the acceptance of black Obama.

5. The Presidency of George Bush Junior must go down in American history as the worse ever. Arrogant, narrow-minded, autocratic, inconsiderate and totally uncaring for the views of others and even of his own countrymen, Bush created a demand for change as no other US President had ever created.

6. There was a lot about wanting to have Obama come in but there was more about wanting to have Bush and his ilk out. And McCain as the Republican candidate simply increased the desire of the Americans to have nothing to do with anyone even remotely identified with Bush…

He also said this, which he might hv forgotten but i wont :

Kemenangan Bush dijangka pulihkan hubungan Malaysia-AS

ALOR SETAR 14 Dis.

”Saya gembira Al Gore tewas,” ujarnya ringkas.

Al Gore who? Noble prize winner, Al Gore..
