One of my favourite cartoon series is MASK. It was like 20 years ago.. I’ve been looking for its DVD/torrent for quite sometime.. Finally, thanks to Youtube.. all the episodes are available here..

So, recently i’ve been actively downloading the episodes to my ipod.. like always, my busy body little one would also want to watch it.. then I told him about the cartoon and how I used to own ‘Condor’ (my fave) and ‘Bullet’.. He seems now also addicted to it and requesting to watch the cartoon almost every nite.. His favourite character is Matt Trakker, MASK leader..

Yesterday, as he woke up in the morning.. he said to me..

Nah.. not that West Wing for Red (aka Sulaiman) House…yeah.. the West Wing of White House in which was adapted in multiple Emmy and Golden Globe award winning TV Series..

Did you remember the series? I wasn’t really following the series at first cause I thought it was all about the President of United States.. but Mrs did.. I just tagged along whenever she watched the show.. and she made me changed my mind..

It was not all about the President.. It didnt show how heroic US President single handedly taking down terrorists holding the AIR FORCE ONE.. neither the “inappropriate relationship” between Mr President and a White House intern..

Mainly it was about the teamwork.. between President Bartlet and his staff who stood behind him.. As powerful as we always thought any United president is, he is also a human being and not perfect.. most of the time, he would require helps from his team, to mastermind his moves, assist in decision making, prepare hell-of-inspired speech, react to their enemy’s threat, foreign and domestic, project & intercept risk/problem, damage-control, and what ever not..

and this team who supported him stand-tall and very well respected..

I think this the West Wing is one of the best TV drama ever.. I would definitely recommend this to everyone of you especially if you are a country leader.. current or next-in-line..

In the West Wing, every time before President Bartlet walks out to meet the Press, his think-tanks will brainstorm what are the best moves, the best speech and the best answers.. he never walk out unprepared.. always confident and most importantly, he never look sleepy and stupid..

One told me an ex Prime still has his handpicked Think-tanks even after his stepped down as the country leader.. some might think he was the most powerful dictator in the country but in real fact, this team of his also helped to make him so.. only thing, he made it as opaque as it could be to make himself seen as the real mastermind.. Some leaders over shown his decision makers to public and make them look as stupid as a puppet.. some, made his think tank as a scapegoat.. and that is not wise either..

The key thing is, if you were a leader of a country, a company, a division or even a small team, you need to without fail show yourself as the one who lead and always be in control.. The suggestions might not come entirely from you, but the final decision is always yours..

Always remember, you might be stupid, but never ever let others think you are THAT stupid.. Capital T-Capital H-Capital A-Capital T..

Hank Moody earns his living by writing novels in the Big Apple.. His last one ‘God hates us all’ was a big hit, then adapted to silver screen as ‘A Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ (featuring ‘Tom’ and ‘Katie’) in which described by himself as a piece of sh*t.. Moving to LA, California turned to be a major disaster for him as he’s suffering writer’s block, losing his own self believe and more importantly, his 12-year-old daughter’s mother whom he never plan to marry before..

At some point he was offered a job as a writer of a blog, which later he found out belongs to boyfriend of his ex.. his biggest enemy since Moody is still trying in every possible way to get back to his ex although he simply couldn’t stop sleeping with every woman he met.. including the-one-he-hates-the-most’ s 16-year old daughter, by accident..

Lucky for him, his agent Charlie never stop believing in him and always become his protector.. although Charlie himself apparently began to lose his wife to his own assistant.. a girl assistant..

Ah.. I spilled out too much, wasn’t I? It is a new half an hour series called Californication starring David Duchovny (X-Files), Natascha McElhone (The Company) & Evan Handler (SATC).. Not recommended for below 18 though since it full with D, S & M.. it is quite blurry at first but getting groovy and groovier after 4-5 eps.. definitely not gonna be shown here.. so dont wait up.. try other alternative.. i would suggest something called torrent.. love it or shove it, just try it, might worth it..

During my bus ride back from Cherating last Sunday, Mr Ramon was kind enough to share a very nice movie.. a documentary to be precise.. “An incovenient Truth“..

It was really an eye-opener for us all in the bus.. if that was how my lecturers present in class, i definitely wouldn’t sleep..

For some especially republicans or a tun, might thought this movie is just a propaganda made by someone who failed to win the presidency.. a threat.. lies..
For me, it is purely a great effort.. massive..Lots of facts (or theories??) you can learn from it.. I always believe that the end of the world is near, but after watching this, i think the doomsday much more closer that I’ve ever thought..

WE ALL NEED TO WAKE UP..

Some basic points that we can do :

• buy energy efficient appliances + light bulbs - checked
• recycle - started
• use hybrid cars - always in my wish list
• use light/mass transit - too bad cyberjaya doesn’t have any
• reduce dependency on foreign oil - hopefully soon-to-be Dr Pak Andak will come out with something..

oh, at the end of the movie, it also said to encourage everyone you know to see this movie.. so i think mr gore wouldnt mind if you tube it or torrent it..

A must seen by all.. Thumbsssssssssss and salutesssss up for Al Gore..

For some reason, I wanted to watch the Ocean Collection. (Watched Ocean 11 few years back, but didn’t really ‘get’ it).

Well, anyway, we have been having a movie marathon last night and tonight.

My conclusion:

George Clooney and Brad Pitt will never grow old, and remain ageless, as they are now. Forever giving that sleek rugged look, yet very charming and elegant (Aaa…).

Think of it as the movie where the most good looking sexiest men are on; George and Brad. Plus the women category; Julia Roberts (who can forget her in Pretty Woman?!!!) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (the beautiful black haired Mrs. Zorro). Perhaps Lara Croft should join too.

Anticipating…

Lets talk about cartoon, shall we..

Back then, when i was still in primary years * in the 80s, living in Johor gave me an additional advantage.. Singapore TV.. apart RTM1, RTM2, TV3. there were SBC5, SBC8 and SBC12 (* now TCS).. 430pm - 630pm (or perhaps till 7.30pm, couldn’t remember for sure) would be the ideal time for watching cartoons..

Now little Faeq enherited some of the cartoonholic genes from me.. subscribing Asstro (sic) give lots more choices.. wide-range of children entertainment..

Dont know if you notice it or not..

Let’s compare this three list : highest rated animations 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.. (courtesy of www.tv.com).. take a minute and think..

Looking at List 1, (L1) I could see animals and robots made as icons and topping the list.. Yes, there are good vs naughty.. but it was potrayed in such better manner.. for instance, look at these old school cartoons :

Road Runner vs Coyote 
Tweety vs Sylvester
Bugs Bunny
Woody woodpecker

There are love and hate affairs, most of the time the good one will have a happy ending.. Yes, it might seems unfair but there’s some values in it.. do not become the bad guy.. and it not purely about defeating your opponents, more towards outsmarting them.. Furthermore, the characters themselves are more or less fictional.. Cats, birds, animals, robots.. even the bad ones (such as coyote & sylvester) can look cute.. and their actions, totally impossible.. drop anvil/huge rock on the head, use a giant slingshots/rockets etc etc etc.. For me, it’s fun and funny..

However if you watch cartoons in the 2000s, (I grabbed some samples from Arsetro program listing):

There are no definition of good and naughty.. it is more towards good and EVIL.. and the main characters, are mostly human or young kids/teenagers to be specific.. their fighting actions, totally copiable.. kicks, punches, headbutts.. and for those not about good and evil, it is about gross and grosser.. doodling the audience.. in one episode of my gym partner’s a monkey * if i’m not mistaken, this boy and his monkey getting money from people in the neighbourhood by sneezing around, play with their mucus and salivas, picking their nose etc etc etc.. no fun, far away from funny, and the characters, not cute at all.. worst, i dont know what value-added can be derived from those kind of cartoons??????????

I dont know whos fault is that.. couldnt really blame the cartoon creator since it might due to ’supply-demand’ thingy.. For me, I’m just a bit worry cause Faeq seems to be outgrown Playhouse Disney Channel and with the influence of his older cousins/uncles/aunties, he might be one of them as well.. hopefully not..
